MICHAEL CARRICK has revealed the latest episode of his unlikely bromance with Pep Guardiola.
Manchester United midfielder Carrick has already been hailed by the City boss as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders of the modern era.
And now the former England star has explained what the ex-Barcelona and Bayern boss told him after Thursday ‘s 0-0 derby draw at the Etihad.
Carrick, 35, said: “He just said congratulations and well played.”
The former West Ham anchorman returned the compliment, saying of the Spaniard: “He’s obviously a terrific manager.”
Carrick’s solid, reliable style makes him just the type of efficient player his United boss Jose Mourinho loves.
And Guardiola‘s admiration for him might be tempered if Carrick helps in-form United overhaul fourth-placed City in the final five games of the Premier League season.
